As first dates go, it’s probably one not to tell the grandchildren about.
Tasks are set to quickly build relationships – and it seems the experiment may work as Ash, 26, and Brittany, 21, have been inseparable ever since.
Ash, from Cheadle, Staffs, added: “It’s a story not many people will be able to tell about their partner.
"But it worked for us.” They applied to be on the show after getting emails calling for contestants earlier this year.
Accountant Ash had been single for five months after his marriage ended last year.
“I really struggled when we split up and I was a bit down,” he explains.
“We’d been married for 10 years and had two children.
I didn’t deal with it well and was also made redundant.
"I was fed up of moping and thought, ‘I need to pull myself together’.
“I’m not sure if I believe in fate but the email arrived that very same day.
"On the face of it, it sounded seedy but when they described it, it didn’t come across that way.
I liked the idea of being matched with someone you had things in common with.” Unlucky-in-love Brittany had been single for almost a year and says she decided to apply because she was fed up of going on bad dates.
